I'm having an issue where sometimes the apps load almost instantly and other times it takes a while and there is a loading progress bar at bottom of the app.

Any thoughts

The blue loading progress bar is the Android runtime booting.

Android runtime should boot when your device boots. But it's not instantaneous; it starts booting after the OS has booted. So if you launch an Android app immediately after device boot you still are waiting for Android runtime to boot.

If the Android runtime terminates (for any reason) then the next time you launch an Android app it will also have to start up.

Right on. Thanks. Is it likely that the runtime will get to a point where it should run all android apps? When android apps are created for a specific version of android will they generally run on all android devices that support that version? Or are they more device specific like how some apps work on a z BlackBerry but not on the Q?
