Because electronics in use (especially heavy use) get hot.

The Z10 tends to have subpar cooling from factory, so some of the technically-minded folks over here are looking into ways to correct that design flaw. In the meantime, grin and bear it.

This is not isolated to BlackBerry.
All electronics will heat up during use.
    Cars too.
And rubbing your hands together really really fast.

When my girlfriend is on she gets SMOKING hot. Occasionally, it takes over 4 hours to get her in a situation where I can let her cool off.

    Talk about playing GAMES!
