    I'm in China and I have the exact same issue. I see a load of stupid guides and 3rd party apps and what are probably malware pretending to be the app I want, but never the actual app.

    Basically you visit the Google Play webstore, copy URL of app you want, paste it to the website above in BB Browser. Apk will download direct to your BB.

    It's been safe enough for me. I only get apps & games from known/established devs, or at least ones with solid reviews.

    Others I've used that you can check out:
    Mobogenie, Good e-Reader, Amazon Appstore (not sure if you'll run into geographic issues with Amazon though)
