    I hope blackberry on 2017 will make update Android runtime to kitkat. Why? I want to play PS2 emulator.

    Continuing the Android runtime past minimal maintenance requires developer resources BlackBerry doesn't have. As well, their position as a Google-authorized Android OEM might be impacted if they continue with forked Android like the runtime.

    If you want Android apps that badly, use a real Android phone.

    My Blackberry Leap, has cobalt google play services version 9.x.x is to old version, and I hope that blackberry on this year does immediately update blackberry runtime for android, available for kitkat, because my android app can not update to latest version, and all of time freezing. I regret bought Leap, I am disappointed fot that reason, Leap is new device but to old parameters.

    The Leap isn't a new device. It was released back in April 2015. Almost 2 years ago

    And the parts are some mix of the Z30 (September 2013) and Z10 (January 2013).

    Search it out a bit - dozens of posts on here about why BB CANNOT update the Android run-time.

    If they did try, they would be in breach of contract and would wind up in court, being sued.
