I sideloaded snap in my new Blackberry passport, but it's not even opening. when I click on the app icon, there is a black screen and then goes back to the main screen. I tried restarting the device but it's still not fixed. Can anyone help me here?

What OS are you on? if it's 10.3.3.. Snap doesn't work right and might never again.
What I do not understand, the developer made us pay for it not too long before the release of 10.3.3. then he vanished. Had he told us that Snap will never work under 10.3.3 we would have not purchased it. Hit and run attitude!.

Snap was always free. What are you talking about
Well, it was free and suddenly it starts crashing upon opening. Then news circulated about an update, supposedly free, to be rolled out soon (in the second half of 2016). The developer bragged that free download will be available on a pre specified date. When I tried to download it free on the pre- specified date, it said something about reaching the free limit download and prompt me to buy which I did.

So basically it was your own impatience. You didn't HAVE to buy it. You could have waited.
Mate, anyway it's not really about the money but rather the benefits of the app. Was happy to pay for it as long as it serves the purpose. I guess now I have to explore other ways of loading Android apps on my Z30.

Go to F-Droid web site and install the Yalp apk. This app will allow you to sign into Google Play, view, install, and update any Google Play apps that you may have. Has a nice interface also.
Same 10.3.3 here and so sad for this. I miss my old blackberry Z30.
