Yes it is. My passport is now a brick. I'm currently using my classic. BlackBerry 10 is not really being supported.
I tried to get assistance with the passport but Noone seems to be able to help.

There is no opening a .bar file. A .bar file has to be side-loaded into your BB10 device with a windows program such as Sachesi (there are other ways also such as Chrome extensions etc).
If you are intending on using Snap, don't bother because it no longer works. If you want access to the Google Play Store and don't want or need Play Services just download and install the android app Yalp Store. You can do a search for that and it's easy to install. If you want full Google Play Services with the Play Store search for Cobalt's Google Play Store here on CB forum. There is a detailed installation procedure for the Cobalt Stack.
