Question my dear crackberrians... due to some problems I had with android apps not working over network only, I re installed the os (.1925/Z30)... for a couple of days after installing I didn?t side load anything, not snap, nor the camera, nor the password keeper... I noticed my battery lasted more than before... after installing the three side load bars I just mentioned, the battery life went down... can't tell which one of the bars files caused this since I installed them at the same time... anybody else have this behavior? thanks and happy new year!

Use something called 'BootCamp'. I'm not a Mac user but I think it's a virtual machine to run a Windows environment on your Mac
Maybe something in this thread can help...or ask there as well.

Boot camp works fine. I am all mac other than my work PC, boot camp worked but my work PC did not!

And that is why I now run Avast antivirus as an active frame on my 10.2.1 device.

Same reason I always tell Android users to run an antivirus utility.
I had to delete that as it kept spamming my hub with scanning messages.
    How are you finding it?

It works fine and its resource usage is quite reasonable. I don't have timed scanning turned on, seems pointless if you scan every download and app launch. I might turn on a daily storage scan ie in the middle of the night, no big deal.

There are some non-critical features that don't work because it's not running on raw hardware, but the main functions (auto-update of patterns, auto-scan of apps as run, scan of apps as downloaded, periodic scan of apps) all work fine.

It sends a persistent notification to the hub which basically just sits there. I don't mind it. I think it did spam one hub notification trying to get me to buy the backup feature, I just deleted it.

The UI is smooth, works fine. I like the app/permissions management features. It gets a top rating for detection rate in recent tests and I have long liked that companies products. (And sense of humor. I love to install the desktop product and change the language setting to "Pirate Speak" - one of my clients gets a big kick out of that and gets really disappointed if it stops periodically informing her that the "Latest list of scurvy dogs is safely aboard!", etc. )

I think I will try it again.
I'm also a big fan of the desktop software.
As I download more android apps I will definitely feel better knowing I have something to provide some degree of protection

Make sure you didn't uncheck the shared file permission when you installed Snap. Allow that permission and it should work.

That feature is not in 10.2.1.1055 is it. I'm thinking it was added in 10.2.1.1925

Edit, nevermind, I was thinking of something else. 'Installing Apps'

Is it possible to run apps like google+ and google drive after downloading snap? I have snap and I downloaded google play services, but services will not allow me to add account. I have a Z30 on .1925.

You can access Google Drive from Play cloud Pro or Cloud Print. Play Cloud is native from BBC. Cloud print from Snap, android. IMHO, find Play Cloud better.

It's not just happening to you alone. I think that's how it works for now. Hopefully future versions will address it.

Might be that Google Play has listed that app as unavailable for your device...

I'm leaning towards this. Google play registers my Z correctly.
