I just downloaded Snap-1_9_6_0 on my Z10 which is running 10.2.1.1055 and when I tap on the application to run it it says "unable to open Snap-1_9_6_0" any ideas why? The mobile 1 app worked just fine.

Snap is a native BB10 app, not an Android application. You have to sideload this one.

Will there be a way to use this app without having to have a Google account?

Can't get past that sign-in screen.

Droid Store was great in that it could access apps - at least the free ones because the few I'm looking for are free - without having to sign in first. It worked so well that I deleted all the other android third party app stores I had tried out. There were just some apps that never showed up outside Google Play.

But, now, Droid Store seems to have died.

The issue is your runtime update it. The one from .1055 is very stable

hey james.. its a very good app.. but I have noticed a few things,

- loads slow on mobile network
- Very frequently I get an error saying " an error has occurred" while updating/downloading any app(even on wifi)
- I had quite a few apks before SNAP and it does not identify all of them in My Apps Section
- Downloading is sometimes slow and stucks but resumes automatically


Though not related to this, but since I have updated my truecaller and google maps app, they both don't work. GMaps hangs/freezes a lot and Truecaller simply does not work. I tried re-installing/re-booting etc. but nothing seems to be working for them.(maybe OS issue).

I have STL-1 Z10 OS: 10.2.1.1055 and Latest SNAP app version.

Because there are so many proprietary hooks in the Google Maps app that tie into proprietary Google frameworks, tbh I'm surprised that it works reliably for anyone as a direct APK install on BB10.

FWIW, there are tons of alternative maps apps in BlackBerry World, some of which use Google Maps data and are native BlackBerry 10 apps. (Some of them are Android ports.)
