    Need some help.

At the initial install I had 2 fields one for GSf ID and one for device ID. And I skipped the GSf the first time and want to edit it now but can't find where the GSF field is.

Managed to get my Z10's device ID through the APK for Evozi Device ID. Snap accepts the ID, but attempting to download just hangs at "Preparing Download."

Sorry if it's already been addressed. I checked the FAQ's at the beginning again and I checked the past couple of pages and didn't see it, but there are probably 5-10 pages in the middle that I didn't sift through.
Same. The file seems to download, but I don?t think with apk extension and wouldn't show "install" when selected.
    Probably 0 bytes.

There's a fairly detailed FAQ in the original post. What you want is the Google Services Framework (GSF) ID, not the Device ID (though this will work to download some older versions of applications). To get a GSF ID go to post #617 in this thread. There are detailed instructions there.

Check the number again. Otherwise, try creating a new one (if you used the VirtualBox process, delete the virtual Android from within VirtualBox, then double-click on the Android file and go through the process again).

Also note that for some applications, it won't download for me either.

    How do you run this?
So long as VBox is installed, double-clicking the OVA file will import it as a new VM. From there you can establish your Google account, launch Play Store, install Device ID, ESC back to the apps screen, launch Device ID and obtain a GSF ID KEY and AndroidID.

I have tested 3 ID. Genymotion 4.2.2 and 4.3, BlueStacks.
With Genymotion IDs I found apps not download with Snap, and Genymotion says apps don't available from device (inclusive Skype, just for testing...)
With BlueStacks ID all apps are downloading with Snap.
    For me Bluestacks is better!

Great app! A LOT OF THANKS!!!

The problem with Bluestacks is that it gives you a GSF ID associated with a 2.2 device, so you will only get applications compatible with 2.2, including old versions of an updated application. Try the method in post #617 for an easier method that will get you 4.2.2.

Thanks, but I think I was using a GSF ID and still had the problem. Anyways, I realized I had a good one in my chrome apk downloader and that worked.

You have to download and install the Androik SDK as well from here:
    Android SDK | Android Developers
Then you can enter the path, e.g. C:\Program Files\Android SDK\sdk and will be able to install the Google Apps.

Maybe it' s a lot easier if you don't use Genymotion but just Virtual Box with the image provided here:
Samsung Galaxy 4.2.2 API 17 with google apps
This image has already the Play Store included so there is no need for Android SDK

Wifi analyzer, Fing, and speedtest are valuable app tools for network testing.

    Look in your device/downloads folder.

The GSF ID is what is needed, and the Z10 does not have one if you run the app. Basically, we need to be able to spoof a legit GSF ID, so you need a 4.2.2 device you can sign into your google play account with and then retrieve it using the Device ID app.

Because not everyone has extra devices lying around, the folks here have figured out a way to use what looks like a virtual device to fake it to be able to come up with the GSF ID. I had an old HP Touchpad that I used instead.
Ok, thanks. I've set up a Genymotion and installed the Google apps - following that thread - but it still doesn't have a GSF ID either. So it looks like I may just have to stick with Amazon and random Google searches for the time being.

Blue stacks not working for me. I could see a blue screen that says it is android-x86.org, but after that it is just blank!

Why is it so hard just to get this ID?! Grr... is it possible to borrow from someone already with an Android phone?

this isn't for all apps though. i have some purchased apk's i was able to use (and of course some that didn't work).. i would say don't filter them and if they don't work, they don't work.. no different that the apps that show up that don't work that aren't filtered.
That's correct. Some paid apps won't work just like some free apps don't work, but many others do. The fact the the dev charges for them doesn't change what services the app requires. As I said I am able to get the apks for apps I've personally paid for using the chrome extension, and that's fine. I have downloaded many and am using them on my Z10, would just be nice to be able to get updates OTA using snap.

Also, unrelated.. would be great to see the version number of the app prior to download. I'd say that's more important then the star rating if for whatever you can't do both.

As far as I know, that won't work unless you give him your Google account username and password too.
