These forums desperately need a [DEV] tag and reprimand system for people who go into development threads and spam the forums with useless comments and redundant reports.

If you agree perhaps we should raise the issue more

    Hahahaha

Someone has to be coordinating the repetitive posting about the error.

If you need to ask that question something is clearly wrong and it ain't with the people that are willing, able to read and comprehend.

But, it was amusing reading the banter.

    Carry On!

    Hi All,

    So here's the scoop:

In order to download an APK from google play, a few things are required:
    • Google Account email address
    • Google Account password
    • Country
    • Carrier
    • Android Device ID

Long story short: Paul's Blog is using his own information (which I think his country is UK) and it seems there is a limit on how many apps can be downloaded in a short time period

I am frantically looking into the ability to save your own information (google account, device id, country, carrier) into Snap and use those to download apps directly from the Play store instead of depending on Paul's Blog API.

    Stay tuned!
This would be fantastic. Take a look at the Chrome plugin for downloading APK files found here https://lekensteyn.nl/apk-downloader/

I use this plugin regularly on the desktop and it works great. You can get all of the source code on GitHub (linked from the author's page).

    Hope this helps!

Nice, this looks better than what I've been using. What are you doing for the Device ID?

What I don't understand, is if people don't read the thread to see if their question has already been addressed, why would we think they'll read the thread to get an answer to the question they asked?

If you have an Android device (preferably at least Jelly Bean to be able to download more applications), then download an application called "Device ID" from Google Play. Otherwise you can run an Android emulator like Bluestacks and download the Device ID from there. However, Bluestacks is only Android 2.2, so if you want Jelly Bean apps you'll need to try another emulator.

It's a pain in the bottom if you ask me, but once it works it works well.

This is what I alluded to in an earlier post, it would be ideal for us folks that have accounts on Google that are configured already. Load up an app like this plug in your info and your good to go.
Also a big thanks to the Dev of this app, great idea and I'm sure you will get by this hiccup ..... you are a thinker and reacted very quickly to an obvious opportunity. Thanks!

Lol that was obvious but, I thought 10.2.1 worked on the Storm 2? Wasn't it just the original Storm that people had issues with?
