yeah it can be done without owning one but you will have to do some work
Darn - doesn't anyone respect RETIREMENT anymore!!!! I checked out that Bluestack stuff a while ago but don't recall what happened other than it popped up on occasions when I did not want it.

I may be missing something but I do NOT have any Android Devices. So I would lack the Android Device ID. I would guess that would be the same for anyone who is solely BB???? Does that mean I am closed out of the Google Store and any chance of using this app or even gaining access to APK files on my own? I would still have to rely on others to download the apk (and like currently, the apk and BAR files).

But thanks for the app in any event.
Installing BlueStacks on your PC and grabbing it from there is one method. I just tried installing the "Device ID" Android application on my Q10, but came up with a "not found" error.

I'm thinking the only way to do it without an Android device is to install an Android emulator on a computer, unless someone could setup an online service to do it.

OP, THANKS for the app. But you might want to EDIT the initial message so that folks don't keep posting about their errors.

Glad it's not a problem on my end. Maybe just too many users on the server caused it to fail.

You mentioned that the BB has an ANDROID ID - where can I/we find it? Do you need 10.2.1.xxxxx or will it be in earlier versions, too. I'm still on 10.2.xxxxx but thought I would jump the gun a bit and find some apk files in advance.

How many digits is it? I see a longish 16 digit hexidecimal ID.

Thanks for tolerating those of us less familiar with this stuff.

Your BlackBerry does NOT have an Android ID. You'll need to either get an ID from an Android device or an Android emulator like BlueStacks, where you need to install the "Device ID" application. Once you get this ID you can delete the emulator, but make sure you WRITE this number down otherwise you might end up having to do the same process all over again.

Hey another solution is an app called

    Good E-Reader App store!

    http://apps.goodereader.com/android-...tores/?did=171

If you have the version 10.2.1. You can download an apk straight from this app! It works like wonders!

    Hey OP :

Google login shouldn't be required for non-paid apps

APK Downloader [Latest] Download Directly | Chrome Extension v2 (Evozi Official)

doesn't require a google login, don't know if a front end can be built for this, may need permission, but all this is doing is taking the com.xxx.whatever file from the play store and generating a download link directly from the store. not sure if the api you were using is doing the same thing or not. this doesn't search, but all it needs is the file id to generate a DL link. it claims it can only generate 1400 links per day, don't know where that restriction comes from, so it may very well be using a google login. now i'm rambling. need sleep.

Check out this thread. It explains how to get a Jelly bean GSF ID, instead of Bluestacks which only gives Gingerbread Device ID Android GSF iD (JB 4.2.2) - Guide
