Maybe im missing something... why wont it let me install? it dloads as a bar extension, but thats as far as i can go... Tried on both my laptop (pc) and my device (z10)

Use Snap Installer to download and install Snap on your Z10.

Why do you say that? I haven't read that. Development takes time as it is a side project for many

I was wondering If the developer could make snap an android apk. It's gonna be better in terms of easiness. Users could just install it directly from their phones without the need to sideload

It doesn't really make sense to rewrite this app as an android app. The only reason you can't direct download this app as it stands now is because BlackBerry would probably have a hard time supporting this in BlackBerry World without word getting to Google who could potentially pressure to have the app shut down completely. Nobody wants that, right?

What you see as "better in terms of easiness" I see as "intentionally opening the app up to unnecessary glitches by forcing it to run in the android runtime". The best way is to keep it a native BlackBerry file and staying in BAR format. Especially when sideloading is so easy and only takes a couple of minutes to do when you use the Snap automated installer.

You don't even have to download the BAR first. One click of your mouse downloads and installs Snap while you sit there. The process would finish before you could count to 200.

After I download it tells me "unable to open the file".

You need to Sideload the bar file. You can't just open it from your device.

If you don't know what sideloading is, search is your friend.

I posted this b4 but no one seemed to pay it any attention. @ the dev, snap needs to be able to run in the active frame and when the device screen is off. The other Android markets are all able to run without being open. Y should the only native app not be able to!?

I think he's referring to the fact that downloads stall when the screen is off or its in active frame. This isn't the only app that suffers from that issue, so I believe it may have to do with how bb10 handles background processes.
