Can't you just open Snap and look under My Apps? It lists the updates. Or am I missing something here?

    Posted via CB10
I think what you missed is the fact that it would be really nice to be notified of updates instead of checking... Not that difficult to understand, haha. I'm sure EVERYONE is aware that you can open the app to check for updates...

"As of right now, as far as I'm aware the only way to tell if there's been an update is to physically go to every app I have on my phone in Snap and search to see if there's an update available."

I guess YOU missed THAT part.

Thanks for pointing that out - - it's the same way I had read it the first time, too, prompting my earlier answer about going to Snap.

I don't think it's so difficult to go to Snap every couple of days to check on the updates. And if the apps tried to update themselves rather than going to Snap to update, there would likely be problems getting them directly from Google Play, anyway.

I'm sorry... Was I responding to you? hahah

I get what you're saying though. Apparently the user thought they needed to check each app individually... Odd...

Either way, notifications would be an AWESOME addition to an already stellar app

Maybe we have different perspective on receiving apps updates, but for me personally I prefer to check it manually by opening snap(or any apps store). Beside snap I do have aptoide n amazon appstore, n it provides hub notification on updates which annoyed me till I turn it off. Just imagine updates mortification filling your hub!

This will not be an apk because what Snap is is a native app store. There are alternative stores that are apks that you can use. If they are limited compared to Snap then personally I think that is the way it should be. Native should have advantages over android apps.

Snap is not available as an APK because it's built for use as a native BB10 app. It can't be converted to an android app to be downloaded. Side loading is the only way you can get it.

See my post from last week. This is a pretty popular question. Just try giving the thread a quick search next time and you'll find the answer you're looking for.

You have your Z10 hooked up to a computer and placed in development mode so you can sideload Snap?

Remember that you CAN NOT install Snap directly downloaded to your device. You MUST sideload Snap to get it on your device first.

Follow the instructions here. The Snap installer makes this really easy to install.

Are you familiar with the sideloading process? Have you sideloaded BAR files before?

This is the reason I'm asking for apk. I don't know what thread you are referring to. I'm sure if you make snap as an android apk, it will get easy for so many users. Not everyone want to learn how to sideload. It's too technical for average joe.
