Which app are you trying? There is a patch tool that can remove Google dependencies from some apps. Worth trying.

If you mean the one by Pawel, it installed and ran on my Q without modification (I didn't test it much though). I'm on OS 10.2.1.2947.

Install Google play store found in this post, and it should work.

If it doesn't work at first, install Google login services as well, also found in the post below.

Read/search this thread. Asked and answered several times already: you can't install Snap from your phone. Bar files need to be sideloaded. Check out Playbook/BB10 App Manager extension for Chrome.

See what I mean? Snap downloads wrong apps and it started after the 2.0.0.2 update.

Notice the difference in the size of the actual app and the "downloading app"...whatever it is!!

I went to check it, and it's the same just this one app.. everything else seems okay... I don't have it installed.. it stays like that..

Edit: as for what you can do, you can manually search for the apk online with the version number you want.. that should do it..

You aren't the only one having that issue, I am too and I also have an STL 100-1, though it's not peculiar to STL 100-1. My brother with a Q10 is also having the same issue. A few others have reported having the issue also.

I've been downloading apps just fine, so far...

On an unrelated note, downloading all these .apk files with Snap ends up filling the device storage space pretty quickly. I found that in Device/downloads, it's rammed with .apk files.

    1. Does Snap use these files to keep track of which apps I've downloaded?
    2. If I delete these files, will Snap still let me know when updates are available for my installed apps?

I tried deleting the Instagram apk and I can still open the app and see it under the Installed tab within Snap, but without an update I can't confirm whether it will still tell me about updates.

EDIT: It's also worth noting that every time you download an .apk, even if it's an update for an existing app, the file is stored here. After a while, you'll end up with a bunch of .apk for the same app, just different versions. I'm currently going through and deleting all the older version .apk files.

Even apps you downloaded and ended up deleting still have their .apk files stored here. Delete them to get back space!

It is analogous to how programs are installed in Windows. The apk files are used to do the install but thereafter could be deleted as they will be no longer referenced. Snap looks at the apps you have installed when checking for updates, not the apk files.

Thanks. I figured this was the case but for some reason I assumed there might be a reason for Snap leaving those apks around instead of deleting them.

You can set it so Snap deletes APKs after the install.

It is a problem only with Telegram, i posted the same pic 2-3 pages back.
I downloaded the latest apk with the browser but i still see this empty update page in SNAP so there is no solution for this yet.

Probably is something shady with this entry n Google Play because is the only one i found to behave like this.
