Tried deleting Viber as well but no luck. Will try re-installing Snap tonight after work.

Why does the name of the publisher change from what it is in play store when I get to the install screen?

Example. I download the pulse app and the publisher is LinkedIn, then on the install screen it's Albert Lai.

It's usually a name of a member of the development team.

Always delete apps from Device monitor, that way there would be no leftovers.

I suggest you re-install Viber, then delete it from Device monitor. After that, reboot and re-install Viber again. That should solve the issue.

Yeah I think what happened here is your download gets stored in snap's cache, but got corrupted somehow (you mentioned you were in a low signal area when downloading?).

So when trying to install, you were always trying to install the cached version (the apk doesn't get moved from cache to your downloads folder until after installation).

Deleting snap caused the cached version of the apk to finally be deleted, then you could download an non-corrupt version for installation.

Sign up at barinstall.com and register your Google play account using your Google account and the android gsf id (aka device id) found in your snap settings.

From there you can search for your app, and download the apk. Hope that helps!
This isn't working for me. I'm using the "Signed in as" e-mail and the "Android GSF ID" found in Snap Settings, but I keep getting a "login error" when I try to search for my apps in BarInstall.

I do not think it will ever work.
Some apps are checking the license via PlayStore.
Since we don't have it on our devices, it fails the check and therefore a paid app crashes or throws that kind of message what you have received.

I am brand new at sideloading and just installed snap 2_0_0_.bar file using the Chrome extension. Now my hub is not allowing me to see my emails and other items. Is there a good way to get back to the good old days of having a hub that allows me to see my separate accounts? -- Update

A good old garden variety restart from the volume buttons seems to have solved this. Thanks.

BUT: it happened again, as I asked for an app MedScape, to download reference material, so, as far as I can tell, the hub gets taken over during download for data (at least for MedScape installed through Snap) .

Can't see how the two are related. I'd say it's coincidental.

It's a Google services issue. You need to install the apks for Google play services. Have a search in the forums. Someone has posted them. Mine works perfectly now.

You could always put Bluestacks on your computer to emulate an Android and use it to download the APK.

As advised in another thread, deleted Candy Crush, then did not install thru Snap.

    Downloaded version 1.0.23. Then installed.

Candy crush now working. For all other apps, I still use Snap

Latest Candy Crush not working has nothing to do with Snap. Candy Crush now requires Google Play services to work. To get it working, you simply need to install a patched Google Play services. You don't even have to patch Candy Crush itself. Get the patched Google Play services here How to fix any Android app dependent on Google Maps API and make maps working

I didn't mean to say Snap caused the problem. What I meant was, I avoided Snap to download Candy Crush so I can skip the last two Candy Crush updates. Snap doesn't allow you to install an older version.

Thus, just searched for an older version and voila, it's working

    Sorry for any confusion.

I love how that message uses the name for Google Play that hasn't been used in over 2 years now.
