I signed up to a beta trial of the new single sky go app but it unfortunately doesn't work on my Z10 and they have told me they will not support the BB10 software.

I have questioned it but to no avail.

I can get it on install but not play any content - the adverts play but no sky go programmes- I get ' no Internet connection'.

Can you get it to play live content then?

You are right. I tried playing content, I was told the app was not made for my Device.
Arggghhh....!

Careful on Aptoide. Lots of scam apps including it seems the Sky Go app. (according to Symantec)

No, that app is for remote recording and so forth.

Does make the point that without specific blocking of certain handsets their apps work though.

For anyone (like me) hoping that the beta trialled Sky Go app will work on BB10 devices - please see the latest disappointing response from one of the beta trial admins:

Hi Steve,

As you’re aware, for this trial and as part of the single app release we will be removing the whitelist of supported devices and making the app available on all Android devices running OS 4.0 and above.

As this was advertised as an Android OS trial, we wrongly assumed that all trialists would have an Android device. Due to the high demand to participate, we were unable to go through and check all of the devices of the potential trialists. I can only apologise for this.

On reporting your issue, we investigated what would be required to support your Z10 device. Unfortunately, there isn’t a quick fix to this and this would require substantial development to ensure we offered the level of support we do for both Android and iOS. In regards to your comment on being able to playback adverts and not Sky Go content - there are various components to the app, some of these components may work fine in an emulated environment, and some may have issues. Sky Go content is protected by a DRM service and therefore that particular component may not be fully functional in an emulated environment on Blackberry OS.

We will keep you updated if this changes, but as it stands we don’t have any immediate plans to make Sky Go available for Blackberry.

Once again, let me apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and thank-you for your interest and participation in the trial up until this point.

Hmm. The use of "may" says to me that if it works it works, if it doesn't, it doesn't. Which is no surprise, we know they aren't going to support BlackBerry, but that it's possible it will work anyway.

There's absolutely no reason it shouldn't work though. The BBC manage to make their iPlayer app work on BB10. If it's white listed then it ought to work. The excuses they are making are ridiculous.

SkyGo has been updated. It now,works on all Android 4.0 phones/tablets.

I tried to log in on my Z10 and it directed me to the page that manages my devices.

I can't remove one on the 2 allowed devices on my Z10. I will try removing it when I get home.

I have never got this far when logging into the app

I've downloaded it on my BlackBerry Passport and you can now sign in. But whenever you wanna play a video, it gives an internet connection error.

Yeah it still doesn't work on BB10 I'm afraid. It plays the commercials but then falls over with the internet connection message as mentioned above.

I've given up asking them as Sky are not interested in their BlackBerry customers!
