Should I edit your title? It asks about snapchat, but your post is asking about instagram.

I'm not sure how it's "faulty" as you put it.

From what I understand, he is saying it's creating a ghost file which he can't delete. He wants to know if the same thing will happen with snapchat or instagram.

Ghost files have happened to me but never from snapchat or instagram

But those files are meant like swap space for the app to run no? Store app specific files in it?

Sometimes yes, other times no. Sometimes even after deleting the app, the files will stay and you can't delete it.
In some cases, it'll say it can't find the file, even after reboots. Sometimes (and this happened to me for text plus), if you open the folder, it'll bring you to another folder, and when you open that one, it brings you back to the original folder. And when you delete, it says it can't because there's too many folders or something
