I recently installed Pocket Casts, an android podcast app, and there is a setting for where to save podcasts. I'd like them to save to the SD card so I did some searching and found that '/mnt/sdcard/external_sd' works, however when I try to download a podcast it's giving me an error saying that the 'value is too large to be stored on this data type'. Does anyone have any ideas? Attached screen shots for reference.

That's the same issue I was having with Audible.com.

You are on the 10.2.1 leak aren't you? Apparently, that runtime can only deal with internal memory.

I get exactly the same message when I try to download Audible files to the SD card, now. Worked fine on 10.2.0. Same problem whether I side load the bar file or directly install the app file, with 10.2.1.1055

What about downloading them 1st on your device and after move that file onto your memory card.

You really think we didn't try that?

Audible, on 10.2, will find the files no matter where they are stored. But on 10.2.1, it can only deal with internal memory no matter what. If you change the setting to the SD it errors, it you move the files manually, it doesn't find them...

What the poster above me said!

I really wish there was a fix for this. My 64gb microsd card is going to waste lol

The big guns will take a look at this soon, maybe they can find a workaround.

I just hope BlackBerry fixes this for prime time.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like the apks have been given access to the sd card yet. I have the same problem with VLC. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next leak.

In the meantime it might be worth trying to convert it to a bar and load. I don't know if it would work but it's worth a try.

Spotify was having some issues on the data currently stored on my SD card, it kept downloading my playlists and alerted me there was no space left.

Recently I've deleted the folders and resetted Spotify settings and it seems to be fine now, still investigating though!

Still no fix, worked for a day or tree and then started to download my Playlists all over again =(.

Try setting your path as /sdcard/external_sd/podcasts. I don't have it installed, but don't think you should need to include mnt.

I just tried this recently with PocketCasts on the new runtime on 1925 and I now have podcasts saving to the SD card! I did nothing different from my original post but my path is now /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/PocketCasts

It now recognizes the SD card and downloads and saves to it. No formatting of the SD card needed.

Really? I'm using 1925 and have issues. I've use Podcast Addict and Pocket Casts, and both have trouble with my SD card. Pocket Casts will at least save files and be able access a few of them after the fact. Most it can't, and I just have to listen via streaming.

i have the SAME problem with ALL my android apps, installed from different places. they worked flawlessly on 10.2 and 10.1 but not on 10.2.1 (yeap ive reinstalled all the apps and still the same problems)
When i install the app it asks for permissions to access shared files so i think is not a permission problem.
Also some apps are able to actually LIST the files and directories on the sdcard but NOT read from them.
Happens AT LEAST with winamp and rocket player. though the error message is kinda missleading

I did this too and it has worked an absolute treat. My path now reads /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/PocketCasts and all of my podcasts are on the SD Card.
