Just tried to get a band to connect to my vzw z30 running 10.2.1 with no luck, I am curious if people would have better results with a 10.3 device.

Did you try downloading the Microsoft health app? Via Android

Or that's not how it works?

Hey, what is this Microsoft Band? I'm intrigued. Is it just a generic fitness tracking device?

yea the app boots up and runs, but you can't do anything without pairing the device, and attempts to pair it failed.

if you head over to Windows Central | News, Forums, Reviews, Help for Windows Phone they have a bunch of right ups and a hands on with the device.

Probably cause it only connects with Low Energy BT which is not available in the 10.2 Android(ICS) runtime. You should not have a problem with 10.3 which is Jellybean.

    Actually 10.2.1 features 4.2.2
10.3 uses 4.3 and this build features Bluetooth LE from api level 18 and up

So maybe a 10.3 user would have better luck indeed

Yes you right. API 17 JB 4.2 doesnt' have LE BT and API 18 JB 4.3 does.

if no one gets an answer i may be able to swing by with my z10 running 10.3, though honestly the device, although having great specs, didn't feel as natural as the fitbit force i had before it, might just settle with the new charge hr coming out, as the band is a little bulky.

here is the link for the desktop app Download Microsoft Band Sync app for Windows from Official Microsoft Download Center

    • The Microsoft Band Sync app for Windows seamlessly syncs your Band to the cloud with the same account that you use from your phone companion app.
      • Works on Windows 7, Windows 8 Pro (and above).
      • Sync faster than with your phone while your device is charging over USB.
      • Get updates and restore the software on your Band.

I was able to get the and to sync with the application.
    1. Removed application from Passport
    2. Downloaded the windows tool.
    3. Entered in account info and named band.
    4. Ran update to band & Synced.
    5. Re-downloaded the application from 1Mobile Market
    6. Entered in the account info that was entered in on the desktop app.
    7. Paired the application with the band
    8. Band is able to connect and looks to work now .

Only thing is the App stopped & does note that google play services may be needed.

many apps have that google play message you can usually just click them off, is the app consistently crashing or is it working for you? also are you getting all the notifications and stuff on the band from the BlackBerry

So far the application stays up. So far no notifications coming though yet.

Looks like the bluetooth disconnects after a bit.

Have been trying to modify the tiles and have gotten the "is your device on"

I have not been able to get it to work either. I am running on Passport 10.3.1.1152.

I am able to pair in bluetooth settings but I notice it loses connection almost immediately. The Health app doesn't even recognize the Band. Tried many different ways of going at it but so far this seems quite incompatible.... very disappointed. For now I will get limited use out it by just hooking it to my iPod and being notified of emails and social networks... no texts/calls.
