Anyone with any luck getting this app to work? I've installed it using 10.2 and debug token. Starts up fine but I can't seem to connect to camera.

Looks like an awesome app.. I shoot Nikon, and would love to have something like this.. although as much as i'd like to on my Z10, I think it would be even better on my playbook..

Anyhow.. it sounds like is makes use of wifi direct.. which I assume is not available to the android runtime, so it's not surprising that it doesn't connect..

Thing is I recently read a thread mentioning the android GoPro sideloaded app working fine with the Z10. I am not sure but I assume that app is using Wifi direct as well.

I have a Nikon and Sony nex camera with Wifi capabilities and would love to load up both the Nikon wmu and sony's play memories.

Haven't had much luck yet. Tried every method including the latest 10.2.0.1767 with debug token and converted the app myself.

Do you have a link to that thread? I've got the go pro app loaded up too, the app runs but it won't connect to the camera.

Hi, I have the Nkon D3200 that came with the WMU and would love to be able to use it with my Z. Never thought there would be an option unless I owned a droid so it's been collecting dust. Where did you get an APK? I'm open to try and see if works and give results.

Just tried an APK DSLRDashboard from the web that also uses the OpenCVManager. Both sideloaded. App works but still won't connect to the WU 1a So close, not sure why other then droid versus OS10. sigh....

Hello there. Have you had any progress? I experimented with the latest android runtimes and havent had much luck. Do you still want the apk?

Hate to dig up an old thread like this, but wondered how anyone has done with getting this Nikon WMU app to run on a BB10 device and connect to Nikon camera? Just picked up a wu-1a adapter for my D3200 today and had good luck connecting my Z30 (Z30STA100-3/10.2.1.3175) with my D3200.

Change Auto IP in network setting to Off. Set Static IP to 192.168.1.2, Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0, gateway: 192.168.1.1, DNS:192.168.1.1 but I could not get this similar workaround solution to 10.3 on Blackberry Passport.

I bought a Nikon Coolpix S6800 yesterday, and after seeing this thread I assumed WMU wouldn't work. But I tried sideloading it anyway and it turns out it works, no problems. Connects to my camera, downloads photos and takes them remotely through my Z30. So I just want to say that it's possible, although I'm not sure what I did differently. (Z30 STA100-5/ 10.2.1.3062)

    Jonathan,
Are you still running this app on your Z30 and it is working as advertised? I'd love to get this running on my Z30 to connect to my D3200. Thanks!

I'm really envious of those of you who can get the app to connect properly to the camera on your BB10 devices. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to connect on my Passport. If anyone has any insight it would be much appreciated.

Which camera do you have and which app? I hope you're talking about nikon's WMU because no one has had a problem connecting

What problem are you having? Its established that there's NO problem connecting nikon camera's via nikon WMU to our BB10 devices.

I used the custom IP settings and though WIFI connects the app doesn't access the camera and gives an error "Not connected to camera" with an OK button!

I am sorry, I miswrote. I meant that I cannot connect the Nikon camera (d3200) to my Passport. I use the WMU app and it connects well to the camera from my android tablet. When I try to connect via wifi on my Passport I find the camera and it seems like I can connect but the app tells me that the camera isn't found. Any insights would be very appreciated. I'm on OS 10.3.0.908.

    Do not use wifi direct.

    Use "normal" wifi.

See if that works. I connect to my D610 with wu-1b wifi module no problem!

I am not able to get my BlackBerry Z30 to connect to my Nikon D3200 via WiFi either. I have 10.3.1.2072 on my Verizon Z30 and the latest version of Nikon's WMU app (version 1.4.1).
My phone finds the Nikon wu-1a when it is plugged in to my camera but never seems to be able to connect.

I have it working without issue on my Z30 with the latest non leaked OS (10.21) but it won't work on my passport with 10.309. Workaround doesn't work either. Maybe 10.31 will fix things but I'm not holding my breath

Thanks for the feedback Scrybe, I was wondering which OS people are running that have no issues with the WMU app. Does anyone have a 10.3.1.xxxx on the phone and can still use WMU?

I just updated to the latest OS 10.3.1.2267 and still can't run the Nikon WMU app at all. It appears to make the connection in the WiFi setup but the app never recognizes the connection to the camera at all.

This is with a Passport or Z30? That's a shame
