I just used it I like it but it took two attempt for it to sideload and the progress bar didn't really move. It took a little while and there didn't seem to be a notification when it had finished sideloading.
The progressbar is only useful when installing multiple apps at once, it doesn't show progress for single apps.

Then you have to use the Development IP address, which you can find here:
Settings - Security - Development Mode - Development IP address

    It should look like 169.254.0.1

The next update will make sideloading apps fun again, even if you have no clue how all of this sideloading stuff works. I added two new possibilities for you to sideload apps using the BB10 Sideloading Tool:

You can now simply double-click on .bar files and the tool will instantly install it on your device.

Or, even better: You will be able to click an "Install" button directly on bb10bars.net and it will launch the tool, download the app and install it. Just like the iTunes or Steam website.

How much easier can it get?

Please keep in mind that the converting feature is not included yet
What link do you want? Download page is BB10 Sideloading Tool : BlackBerry 10 Bars, if that's what you are looking for.

I did Bloomberg, AirBNB and LINE messenger. All working!

Xabber XMPP doesn't seem to work (can't connect).

Netflix is next on my list. This tool is very easy to use and the UI is very well designed and the log window has just the right amount of info. Kudos for releasing this!

Just used and is very smooth hope you develop it to the max, keep those apps coming, make the BB10 experience as great as it can. BTW I just side loaded the Netflix app and put it head to head against my wife Galaxy III and my son Iphone 5 and I kicked their buts, even my son a Steve Jobs fanatic conceded my victory

To all the Mac users out there: I really don't want to let you hanging. I would develop a tool for Mac OS, but I simply don't own one to develop with.
    Sorry guys

Don't forget to develop a side loading app and converter for BlackBerry device. (stand alone app that is being installed inside blackberry device). I will buy it even if it worths 10 bucks in the app world.

Do you really think BB would ever approve that app in BlackBerry World? There are policies against this kind of app.

Yes,. This will aid the app gap from lazy devs. As long as devs allow their app to be sideloaded, it's not a big deal.

If you think fbi are aftering to stop these kind of apps, why are those sideloading apps exists now? Why android has those? And why are you asking?

    Just curious, though

No, it's just not possible. I don't own the rights for these apps (neither does BlackBerry). They don't allow sideloading apps and external markets in the BlackBerry World, you also won't find those apps in Google Play (see AndroidPit market and similar).

I don't quite get what the FBI has to do with all that in your post.

The next update is now available. You can run the tool and it will detect the update, or you can download it from tool.bb10bars.net.

You can now install apps directly from the website - with exactly one click! Try it out yourself:
    Download Soundcloud: BlackBerry 10 Bars

That's possible because of a custom URI handler, it works like this:
    sideload:soundcloud
The tool will start, search for soundcloud, download and install the first result.

    Change log:
    Version 1.1.2.32
    • Double click .bar files to install
    • Added custom URI protocol
    • Added more error handling
    • New software update tool
    • Minor bug fixes
    bcbbanga4l and systemvolker like this.

When is the apks to bar convertor going to become functional?

Also what would be cool is if their program could incorporate that new method of sideloading for those who want it and easier for those who want to try it

When I found a way to make it as easy as possible. Which new method are you talking about?

I thought the debug token is involved in creating a .bar from an .apk.

    To repackage it.

Not related to the actual side-loading mechanism?
