    Hi,

While I don't watch video on my phone, some of you do, so this is a FYI.

The APK level support in the BB 10.3 runtime is 18 (Jelly Bean MR2).

Netflix 3.16.0 build 5294 is level 14 so it was compatible. The newest version of Netflix 4.0.0 build 5523 is level 19 (KitKat) which is not compatible.

You can get copies of the 3.16 APK and older from apkmirror.com for sideloading.

Where are you getting this version 4.0.0 from? I just logged onto Google Play Store and there was no update available, and I'm using version 3.16.0 build 5294.

Google Play will only show you whatever version is compatible with your device. They may hold several versions of an app on the store and serve up which ever app version will work with whatever version of Android you're running.

Netflix may well have a version specifically for Lollipop, but for now, we'll still see 3.16 for 4.3, which was last updated on November 2, BTW.

Yes. So people attempting to sideload the 4.0.0 version from a tablet or another phone are not surprised.

I've never had Cobalt's patched store installed myself. I've always just sideloaded because it is easy for me to do.

Also the only lollipop specific version is the one for televisions.

I haven't tested netflix yet. But you need to have cobalt's patched google play services installed, patched chromecast android app, and patched netflix. Search forums, if you are lucky and have all of the above casting will work.

I use Netflix on my Z30 with a Chromecast. I use Cobalt's patched Play Store and play services along with a patched version of Netflix. Same goes for Hulu and Plex.

Go read through cobalt's thread carefully. Make sure you have all prerequisites installed and set up.

I have already. I patch several apps frequently that install without issue. Might be a moot point since in another thread there are reports that patching Netflix may not enable chromecast.

You're a great guy! Problem I'm having is that I have Chromecast (patched) installed along with Cobalt's Google Play Services. I have my Chromecast app connected to my house's Chromecast dongle. In my Chromecast app it shows Netflix and YouTube as apps.

When I am watching a video on Netflix I see no options to cast to my TV.

Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing something?

I mean make sure you're on wi-fi? Try reinstalling netflix. Make sure you didn't just install play services.. but all the other prerequisites from cobalt's thread as well.

Q10. YouTube works fine, CastStreams (NHL) works fine. I doubt it's a resolution thing since the other apps change the resolution to fit my TV (ie., not Q10 dimensions).

Everything on Cobalt's thread is installed, hence the working YouTube/CastStreams. Really confused by this.

I'll try deleting Netflix, re-adding it to the Whitelist using a fresh download from the Play Store, and then re-installing using the patched version you posted above right now.

Edit: No dice (see pics). I wonder if it's because the patched version you uploaded has different signatures or something than the one from the Google Play Store. Did you Whitelist from the Play Store and then install the patched one?

I posted this screen shot of Netflix working on my Passport. The Netflix app version is 3.160.0 (code5294). I patched according to all of Cobalt's instructions. I patched with his Play Service Patcher, not the latest version or with Lucky Patcher.

Downloaded the apk from apkmirror with the mentioned build and code #. Whitelisted it. Patched it using Play Services Patcher. Installed it. No casting icon.

Do you guys really think it could be that I'm on a Q10? Hopefully someone with a Q10 or Classic can confirm it works.

The version of my patched Chromecast app is 1.12.32. As you can tell I have refrained from updating to newer versions just in case those won't work.
I think both worked before Cobalt had the Whitelist app. It's been awhile.

Thanks. I'll try with that Chromecast app version today after work. Just odd to me because Youtube and another app cast perfectly. All said and done, I'd rather have NHL streaming than Netflix!

It might be that since you installed a new version of Netflix that any older patched version won't work. I hate to suggest a clean OS install to clear out any "stuff" and then the have the older patched version still not work.
