So me and a co-worker decided to test some apps today and we went for the niche of male gay apps.
*Note: All of the mentioned apps were downloaded from the Google Play Store on September 5th 2013 and converted the same day. We tested them on the leaked BB10 v10.2.0.1443 with the leaked unlocked android runtime.
That's what I was thinking! Haha but so did Howard and the others..
Bro, you should consider posting this on the sticky with confirmed apps.
C0001BBF0 - BlackBerry 10 help channel.
I did consider it but that sticky is such a mess and the list in the first post hasn't been updated since the beginning of August, not to mention there are different BAR's of the same app in there...
CrackBerry needs a bar file repository so we can see what version of what app on what date has been converted and what works and doesn't.
I haven't tested Jack'd. I will do so today and add it to the first post when I get the chance.
Some of these apps do rely on the Google Maps API which as far as I know isn't included in the Runtime. These apps will work except for the portion that shows a map. Case in point is Instagram, which works beautifully except for the part in settings that allows you to see a location of your photos on a map.
Will they find a way to include this? I don't know, I hope they do as more and more popular and social apps include a 'see on map' feature. I don't think it's that difficult to port as the Android Runtime is pretty powerful but they may hit some legal issues we're not aware off anyway, only time will tell.
This isn't a side load but using Cascades I was able to write a basic app that let's you use uncensored Adam4adam Radar, do you think BlackBerry would allow this in BlackBerry World if I submitted it?
If you're willing, I'd suggest to release your source code on GitHub with an MIT license and allow others to see and use your method freely. Sharing is caring and who knows, people might learn from it.
Now about the BlackBerry appworld thing, i'm guessing you are referring to this section:
Sexual Content
•Apps with any pornographic material, graphic sexual content and/or nudity will be denied
•All dating apps must have an ‘Adult’ rating, appropriate UGC safeguards and a TOS stating that users must be over the age of majority in their region
•Any app that contains, promotes, or otherwise facilitates escort services or prostitution will be denied
I'm pretty sure dating apps like the ones in the first post of this thread are allowed in appworld, as they don't come default with any imagery, but rely on users subscribing and posting pictures of themself.
I think if you'd submit this with the appropriate adult rating, a good description about the app and a TOS as requested, it will be allowed.
