I encountered the same issue. In my case, my PC is running 64 bit version of Windows 7, the 64 bit JRE that I downloaded created that problem. Once I downloaded the regular one "86 version" everything worked! Good Luck

    Windows x86 Offline 30.06 MB jre-7u17-windows-i586.exe

    Whick one????
I actually just used another computer to do it & got all the apps I need. I converted some .apk files w/ the PB .apk to .bar converter site. after a bunch of tweaking and sideloading, I haven't skipped a beat with the z10. I'm LOVIN IT!!!!!

I think the first one "0.86MB" is the launcher so that you can download the software. I remember it says" online function. The second one of the meat an potatoes. So, either one should do. Just make sure you delete all previous JRE that you downloaded before.

    Glad it worked out!

well i can confirm a working paid app on both the z10 and playbook

repligo reader 4.2.4 (which is currently the highest version)

I had to buy it on amazon app store on my android device (might actually work with playbook), then back it up with es file explorer. then I submitted it to apk2bar.unker.net had it converted and signed. Im totally okay with me doing it this way since I own two licenses for the app, one with google play store and one with amazon app store. one i use on the android device the other I use on my z10.

I personally think this is the greatest pdf markup and editing software available. it even has a read outloud option as well ad cloud support. Everything works. Its built for android 2.2.2 and z10 has 2.3 or something like that. Not sure if someone has a paid app list but you can add this one to it

Thanks for all the hard work everybody. I have successfully loaded many apps including Poynt, Pinterest and Scope with your help.
If anyone is interested, I have loaded kik via http://apk2bar.unker.net/bar/05/c0/2..._v1.0.32.0.bar
kik works great but you have to keep it open to receive notifications. Other than that it's great and I can even send pics now (which I couldn't before on my Torch.) And when you select to send a pic it pulls up the droid Gallery interface which is kind of interesting.
I also loaded GetGlue via http://apk2bar.unker.net/bar/ed/77/6..._v1.0.10.0.bar
I had to log in twice the first time I ran it but other than that it has run flawlessly for me.
I'm also running UberSocial, which was was my favorite twitter app via UberSocial for Playbook and BB10 - Blackberry Playbook and BB10 Social Media Apps | Android APPS - BB10 Apps & Playbook Apps
The app works as good as it did on BB OS 6 (with a few changes) but a big issue is that if you try to click on any link to BB World it says that you are denied permission. So that seriously sucks.
If anyone has the time, I'm trying to get The Hobbit and Ingress working but haven't been able to figure those out. My friends are killing me to join them in those games.

Two very handy apps for swim parents ... and they work fine side-loaded. OnDeck Parent and MeetMobile. Both are free apps in google play.
