Thanks all for the tips and files! I'm now logged in to maps using only the patched-googleloginservice-573038.apk. and the vending apk. I even was able to use some google $ on my BB! Finally!
Maybe someone could update the readme.txt supplied with the bundle of files? I can't find the post where I got them.

Don't have to doublepost the same question, I've already answered you in the other thread, but just for others: in this case you just have to disable notifications for Maps via Ghost Commander.

I was unable to get Drive to work for me. Maybe it's the version I tried.

Ingress works too, it's been a long time since I played that using a patched APK by moneytoo, but some say it now works without a need of a patch. Looks like we won't be seeing the other apps you mentioned a long time, which is sad, I'd definitely appreciate most of them.

EDIT: Just tested the latest Ingress version downloaded via Snap - works just fine, no extra steps taken

I successfully followed the above links' instructions and successfully launched my google account. I can now even use google maps flawlessly.

But the reason I'm doing this is to activate my account in avast, which I think is in line with some kind of google stuff. See below issue. Any help on this? Many thanks

I tried all the suggested options, but I kept getting the "unable to verify account" error until finally I tried installing Snap and loading directly from the Google Play Store and then I had success. It crashed during the initial setup steps, but after restarting it completed successfully.

So you were able to get past "No Network Activity"? I only have Google login services and I can log in, but still get the No Network Activity message.

The only version that seems to login AND let's me use my maps and doesn't give the No Network Activity message is version 6.14, but if someone has the newer version working, please let me know what you did.

I even tried the maps version that was included in the original thread that linked the modified Google Play Services and Google Login Services.

If you are running an OS below 10.2.1.1055, then you need to convert the apk to a bar file first, before sideloading it.
