Yip, followed all those steps. Snap installed and allows me to view all apps. But when I download, the following happens:

    Downloads successfully (e.g. RockMyRun),
When I press Install, it takes me to 'Floppy Bird' - a game.

How is the installer a hassle in anyway? And if you can make it any more convenient, it be that much better.

What does this mean: Error: Unknown argument: E ?

Snap Installer Win 1.1 terminates the process after displaying the "Error: Unknown argument: E" message

Could be a path problem. Maybe it's to long.

I attempted this as per the instruction posted in the beginning of the thread - I get the msg as -
Error occurred during initialization of VM
    java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: java.lang.Class.desiredAssertionStatus0(Ljava/lang/ClassZ
    <<no stack trace available>>

I believe I get this because I'm on 32 bit windows 7 computer and i'd need to be on 64 bit for Java SE to run? I'm not too certain but i guess this msg does indicate it's java trouble on my machine as i can't get to sideload it to work.

    Hi

To run this installer on a 32bit Win 7 machine, you'll need to install Java JRE (Java Runtime Edition)

    You can get it here:
    Link

    Choose this file:
    Windows x86 Offline 19.26 MB jre-7-windows-i586.exe

I tried using the script after the Chrome one failed.
I get a "user authentication failure" error
I guess I did edit the .bat file with correct location for Java and the device p/w

It is better to use the Windows version, isn't it? It's the first download on the page.

The error message indicated, that you have entered a wrong password. Use the the one you have set for development mode (it is possible that it is not the same as the device password).

To call a process that involves screwing around with dev modes, downloads from Oracle, passwords and IP addresses, "without any hassle", is laughable. Thanks for the effort, and laughs, though.
