Good point, but of course the service is optional. Technically, we're all taking a risk when we enter our Google credentials into snap.

The difference is John Paul Muir has been extensively questioned on such things and picky people like myself have satisified ourselves that he is quite ethical and trustworthy.

You can hardly make this claim about that other service, and I would argue various information points to the opposite conclusion actually.

Oh and FWIW: I don't use a Google account that contains critical personal info for Snap anyway. Probably because I refuse to give Google any critical personal info, ever.

Thnx dustmalik, will add this to OP. I believe that some people have this problem when trying to connect their device the fist time.

The service I'm referring to is authored by a very well-respected member of the community, Yohanes. Same guy who made the original localbar application for blackberry PlayBook.

There must be an other way for installing BAR files than sideloading and using VPN connections. Maybe some kind of Installer app, that can be pushed into Blackberry World and that can then download and install BAR files. But I doubt that Blackberry would allow that. An other way could be to hack installhandlerui so that it can also install BAR files.

    More ideas?

It's been tried, and they won't. For example, Sacha already has a native version of Sachesi - BBW rejected it and won't explain why.

10Bars also isn't in BBW, probably for similiar reasons - Shane probably didn't even try to submit it. And it doesn't even install BAR files, just downloads them.

Thanks for this, but Snap Installer downloads the latest client automatically and then installs is. So there's no need to bother about where to download Snap.

Use this link provided by Bla1ze MEGA. You need to enable 'Desktop Mode' if you are downloading it with your BB10 default browser.

Here are some of the most common problems that may cause Snap not to work correctly:

    • Your device doesn't have OS 10.2.1 installed (this is mandatory)
    • You didn't grant all permissions to snap at first install
    • You are trying to download an app that you didn't buy on https://play.google.com/store

Hi and thanks for your feedback. If the installer confirmed a successful transfer the Snap app should show up. I haven't seen this behaviour before. What did the log report in your case?
