As I said before, you will need to use your api key if the app uses mapping features.

I have removed the API Key from the patcher and tried to Patch Google Map app again and got similar error:

    Processing C:\Users\SinghSun\Desktop\com.google.android.apps. maps.apk
The package contains 3 classes.dex files
    [Decompiling classes]
    Fatal error: Decompilation failed, aborting.
    [Cleaning up]
    Done.

You only need to patch of you want to be able to sign in.

But when patching GMaps, set decompile to off.

    Conite,
I have used patcher in the past and never had issue, i had to change no settings in the past other than Java Path.

    Under Options Tab
I have nothing ticked, Does that mean decompite off?

I just don't know what you're doing wrong. When you fire up Patcher 1.6, you shouldn't have to change any defaults for GMaps.

    Conite,
    I thought that too,
So i tried to unzip it again on a different PC.
    Google Map patching worked successfully.

I shall try a couple of other apps now with API Key.

So every app wich uses map shouldn't be decompiled?

Google Maps app patching does not require Decompiling.

    I am unsure about others.

I am trying to patch an app (Location dependent),
I have entered a new API Key (for Andriod Apps) under 'Google Maps' tab and also clicked "Decompile resources" on the "Options" tab before clicking on "Analyze APK"
After analysing I get to a screen to click 'Continue'
then i get following error message:
    .................................................. ..............................
    Done.
    [Rebuilding]
    Error: Package cannot be recompiled.
    [Cleaning up]
    Done.

    Could you please help?
Please let me know if you need full error message.

i have also tried putting a space at the end of the API Key and also on 2nd computer and a new API key

I wonder why are you clicking on "decompile resources" when conite told you clearly to leave it unchecked.... google maps ONLY needs to patch the google services error msg (only if you want to log in when using the app) just leave all unchecked and will work.

How did you obtain the app? From Cobalt's Google Play Store? It's the only way to ensure you have the correct variant of the app (there are 17 variants).

Here is one I KNOW works (passport only). If it doesn't, there is something wrong with your setup.

Boom Beach patches fine for me, using defaults on Play Services Patcher 1.6. Don't forget to update framework the first time you run a new version of the Patcher app.

And please, use Cobalt's Google Play Store to obtain the app - it will eliminate a lot of problems because it will grab the correct variant for our devices.

I've had that happen to me on occasion.

Usually after uninstalling it totally and then reinstalling. It will open blank the first time. Close the app, and try again. The second time, it pulls everything in.
