hello Conite, can google play service be patched cause some apps in my Z30 require play service to be updated in order to run.

That's what this thread is about.

Once you set up Cobalt's Google Login and BlackBerry Google ID, you can then install his modified Google Play Services (link in first post).

In order for an app to work with those services, it must be patched - hence the need for using Play Services Patcher on your PC.

First, I apologize for my english, i'm just a french noob ^^

So, as many of you I want to install an app depending on Google Play Services. I have followed your instructions one by one, I have the pre-patch Google Services on my BB and I patch the app I want to install with your software. I put my patched app on my BB for install, but when I want to proceed the install (I simply launch the patch APK on my BB) I have the following notice :

"Impossible to install this app"

and the install window shutdown.

I tried with an other app ("Mappy") and it works.
The app in question is : "com.virginmobile.appmobile.selfcare-20.apk"

(it's the app of my Mobile operator for checking my account / credits^^)

I don't know, if anyone can tell me if I can do something to make work this app ?

The unpatched version of your app is not properly deleted. Look here:

If you're absolutely positive the unpatched app is properly deleted, another reason you may see this error is if the app is written for Android Kitkat or above.

It's finally works, some how it seems that the patched app in the process was corrupted, I re-patch it and now it's working. I don't really understand why, but it's good !

Have you tried patching the apps you downloaded from Cobalt's version of Play Store? If not you should.

Hi, I patch some apps and they work fine but I have problems with apps that use gmaps. I try to patch gmaps, happn and whoosnap, they work but they don't find my position. I don't know if it is normal but when I patched the apps, the patcher find 2 classes but it did only the patch for play services. Any help?

No matter what you do some Android apps will not work. I tried patching Waze with decompile on and off, no go. The app just doesn't want to work on my Passport.

Waze doesn't use Google Play Services and works perfectly on all of my BB10 devices (no need to patch).

The trick is to set it up from scratch. It can take 5 minutes or more to start the first time. Be patient and don't rush it. It can take another 5 minutes to finish the installation once you answer the setup questions.

It's snappy after that.

The patcher is for your PC. You are trying to install it there, are you not?

I'll give it another try. I didn't patch the first try but I wasn't patient enough.

Keeps saying java exe not found, is this right..... C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe

Hit browse, then actually navigate to the java.exe file in your PC. Then you shouldn't have a problem.

What's "the file"?

You may have had the same app installed before and it is not properly deleted (this happens on OS2876/sw2836).
