Is there some kind of second api key in AndroidManifest?

No, just the one. I suspected it had to do with the api key so I even tried using an older version of play services without key injection, but again no luck.

Hello, please help - I downloaded the file you suggested but i got an error message:

How to patch Android Apps depending on Google Maps and Google Play Services-error.jpg

I was trying to get the app Informant to work on my Z10 as well as some other apps.

I looked at this app. As it does not recompile with resources, the Google Maps API v2 key is not injected into AndroidManifest and therefore you don't see any map.

    Solution:

    1. Patch life 360 with option decompile resources OFF
    2. Use Google Play Services 5.0.81 that support Google Maps API v2 direct key injection (Download here)

Why wouldn't you just install it directly from the device?

I quickly looked into that app. It looks like the dex file cannot be decompiled. That's why the patcher can't find anything to patch... may look into that later on
Thank you. I would be grateful!

If it requires g+ login, it won't work.

I don't believe it requires g+, just Google play.

Common problem with patched apps. Uber first uses network location for a quick fix, then goes on to full out gps for an exact lock.

Network location doesn't work, so it has to rely on full gps. If you're not in a gps-friendly location, it won't lock, and hence no location.

If it makes any difference, the latest version of uber at least reverts to your last known location, so you can then modify it from the map if you've moved since.

How about that Network Location apk that Cobalt provided us a while back? Does that not help either?

It only does what uber implemented in the last update : return last known location. Doesn't actually enable network location services.

Hello, sorry for the late reply I did in fact try to install it (informant) directly from the device but the problem has not been resolved.
Your help or suggestion is definitely more than welcome. Same thing with Uber, would not even start up because it pops up and is asking to install the google play services. When I click on the box to install it then nothing happens.

GMaps Patcher has been updated to final version 1.0.

This version can patch Apps depending on Google Play services and it can also patch Google Play services itself. GPlay Patcher is no longer required.

    Changelog:
    • New: Merged code from GPlay Patcher into GMaps Patcher
    • New: Patcher now suggests patches to be applied
    • New: Simplified GUI with less confusing options to select
    • New: Patcher includes option to resize advertising banners to make them invisible
