When I run it it opens and after I select search nearby I get the map, but when I zoom it crashes and closes?

Should I try the new Google services?

Downloaded the cobalt-patch version but when u open it, the icon is greyed out and still my TWC wifi finder doesn't work. Please help, I need to access my TWC hotspots to save on data. Thanks

Looks like you Did not patch Wifi Finder. Download the patcher First and patch the File. The Icon in Google Play Services is always greyed out (even on Android devices)

Not all apps will work after patching. What I noticed is that helper apps (Strava, Hailocab, Glympse etc.) work better than games. Games have a deeper Google Play integration, especially if they use ingame buying. These Games mostly won't work.

We'll have to see what the new Android Runtime will support. The announced Google Accounts integration may be a further step to a better compatibility.

Newbie

I download gmaps apk patcher v3.0.1osx
Gave execute permission to patch.sh
Installing java
Assuming by default open ssl is installed and running (if not then how to check pls tell)

Now I just have to add apks to add ur apk folder and execute the command... am I missing something?

Hi,
To check openssl is installed (it should) just open a terminal and type "openssl" at the prompt. To test java is installed ok, type "java -version" on a terminal prompt also.
Put your apk in the "add_apk_here" folder, run ./patch.sh and follow the screen instructions. After the patch is complete, check the "patched_apk" folder.
More info is in the readme file. Good luck.

Funny thing: The normal, sideloaded version of Tripadvisor works quite well, but the map view ist just blank. When I patch it with this tool, it crashes when clicking on map. What's wrong? Anyone a working Tripadvisor apk?

I want to say thank you to Cobalt232, Christian-Georgescu, Sally Mack and who ever else that worked on getting the GMaps Patcher program. Initially I was able to trick my phone with google play and google play services for awhile, but got tired of the error always coming up for google play services. I updated both google play and google play services from this forum and that took care of the problems with all my apps except for one. I downloaded the GMaps Patcher, patched the app and it works like a charm. Again, thanks to everyone that was involved.

If I remember correctly then yes. But I wiped it a few days ago, so I cannot check. I will do everything again and report back!

I have a question: i dont understand if this versione patched of Google Play Services allow to use Android app that need of Google Play Services installed ( such as Groupon, etc.) without use a specific apk file patched of the app.
