BTW: You can select the deploy option in APK-Packager to directly deploy the BAR to your device.

@Cobalt, I tried your method and everything worked perfectly BUT I can't find the debugtoken.bar file I used the bbidtoken.csk and pasted in user/"my directory"/AppData/Local/Research In Motion

I ran the BlackBerry_signer after copying the already downloaded bbidtoken.csk file to the aforementioned directory and I got a field showing author, after registering I clicked create but can find my debugtoken.bar file.

But I successfully converted the apk file to bar though. Just can't find the debugtoken.bar

You should not need to have a debugtoken.bar. What you can try is to run blackberry-deploy.bat -gui and then use the deploy debug token feature in there.

Managed to create and install the debugtoken, repackaged the apk but on installing, it stay RDK, AUTHUR MISSING...

Hey Guys

As some of you had some trouble finding/running the batchfiles I wrote a small script to launch all required apps that have a GUI. To use the new script, you need to re-download the Blackberry Developer Tools with the new link provided in the original post. I also included a prepared headless_manifest.mf that contains the required settings. Hope it helps!

Headless means it runs in the background and receives notifications. Just as Skype does.

I've tried this method with Instagram, Snapchat and Facebook Messenger. It doesn't seem to work

Well, this has nothing to do with headless mode though. I know for sure that Google Voice's notification wont work, because I tested by having it open and sending myself a msg. All the apps whose notification work do remain in background, e.g. whatsapp, viber, etc.

Great post cobalt... this can end up being quite handy!

I have a strange scenario though, where a specific app which I installed via straight apk actually behaves in a headless manner! It's a common app (tapatalk), and I literally won't open it for weeks on end, but when a subscribed thread gets updated, I get a notification.

Any idea how they achieved this?
