Does anyone know how to get the new Google Maps Voice to work on Navigation? It still has the old navigation voice. Thanks.

First, Welcome to CrackBerry! Next, I didn't know the maps had a newer or different Nav voice.

    Thanks. Glad to be here.

Actually I meant the turn by turn voice. The sideloaded Google maps still has the older robotic voice, so I was wondering if there was a way to make it sound like the newer voice.

If you are on 10.2.1.1055 you might try the google services hack.

Mine works without issue. It actually got me out of a sticky situation this weekend I got in with my old GPS.

I got my version from the 1Mobile store.

10.2.1.1055 with the google services hack? Or without?

Nope just straight install of the apk from 1Mobile. It does complain about missing Google services and installing them will make positioning more accurate but you don't actually need it to run maps.

It will work, but the voice quality of the voice that gives you the turn by turn directions is poor quality, robotic sounding.

I tried the Google services hack and its didn't work for me.

I wonder if you can edit the speaking voice, even with without Google services installed...?

Yeah. I looked at the files under maps and it has the new better sounding voice, but maybe it's something else that needs to be done in addition to Google services.

I've got 7.2 now, but I've tried 7.4 and it still sounds robotic

    I have the same problem.

The new voice worked before for half a trip now all I get is the robotic voice.

Any ideas how to get the new voice? The robotic voice is just to hard to understand some times.

Also what is this google services hack? I have tried to do a search on that with no luck.
