Hi,
There are only 3 apps that I miss from iOS world that
I was unable to port (converts to BAR, get -9 error) on my BB Z10 due to the Google maps API:

The banking app: - Done! Working!

Likely due to not having a valid google maps api key. I posted how to obtain one earlier in this thread.

I did get Transit to give me directions.

Damn, that means it's me... can you share your modded apk (you can remove the api key if you like)? I want to see if it's my conversion, or something related specifically to my phone.

In the Androidmanifest.xml file there may be a line along the lines of "maps_api_key_v2= " ... search for "maps" and see if you find something along those lines. Also, try restarting your phone and seeing if that fixes it (oddly, it's made a difference for myself, and someone else in this thread)

If you only embed framework code into app, it will work but won't load any tiles (app mBank, uses API v1)

Google maps doesn't need any modifying. Convert the apk to bar and off you go.

So I downloaded Google Maps from the Play Store today. The most recently updated version. Every time I launch the App, it says Initializing please wait and force closes. Bare in mind I used an Android Galaxy Nexus - 4.2.2 with Google Apps - API 17 - 720x1280 emulator as my Android phone to obtain this APK in the Play Store. Am I using the wrong device to obtain the APK, as noted in the Play Store that there are various versions according to each device. I just want the latest version for my Q10 while I try and figure out this new method from this thread.

Also by tiles not working in Uber, do you mean the Map itself too as the tiles for ordering don't work and neither does the map. I'm going to try to get this working tomorrow with a different version as the app itself seems to be the wrong dimensions. But thanks to whomever got this working.
