Good to hear you got it working. Can you post the apk? Perhaps if you had the api key, the map would show too! I can spend some time figuring that out at some point this week.

Would this work with FieldTrip? I attempted to use your method but couldn't find where it used GooglePlayServices (and I'm afraid I'm not quite technically advanced enough to look beyond that?) and although it opens, it says there's "no Google accounts on the device" and won't proceed past that despite having a Google account in my Accounts.

Got the Transit App to work... great app! Problem is all the api keys are tracked by google, so i'd suggest getting your own. I found very good instructions to get one here :

Follow those instructions, leave the field blank when it asks for an SHA-1 id, and copy/paste the api key in the manifest.xml file :).
Sorry I didn't get to you sooner with the APK. Did you sign up with Google as a developer to get that API key?

Perhaps the same failure 9 issues previously with SWA....for US Airways.... there is a bar, which I've copied here. but in crashes when one tries to upload to a z10 with the infamous "failure -9". I've searched and not found a "working bar" on CB. any help by you or others would be Great! Thanks.

You do not have to be a developer per se. Just log into the Console with you Google account.
Exactly. If you follow the directions in the link I sent, you can get a key quickly and painlessly.
I'll give it a shot.

Well after playing around with this for a few hours today it has become apparent to me that I will need to keep my fingers crossed for an automatic program to be released as I keep getting errors trying to get Canadian tire app to work.

It works, but have you tried getting directions? Whenever I try it says there was a problem, and they've been notified about it :(
I got it to work, but you either need to have an unlocked runtime, or convert to bar using debug token method. In any case, here's the link to the modified apk file. Convert, install, and off you go!

Got uber working,however the register function doesn't work, and map tiles don't show. I think I could get the map tiles to show with some proper google maps api keys, but this is at least functional for now.
