How to fix any Android app dependent on Google Maps API and make maps working
- Out of curiosity, has anyone else noticed diminished location tracking with some of the newer versions of apps? My yelp and transit apps won't find my location unless I open google maps as well. I first started noticing this a month or two ago, and it might coincide with the newer google play services releases we haven't been able to patch.
Scenario: Google Maps was closed. I tapped "Get Directions" in Yelp. Google Maps subsequently opened and showed the route from my location to the destination.

03-12-14 11:03 PMLike 0 - Can anyone patch the Endomondo app? It keeps saying Google Play Services is not supported. I admit I'm kind of lost on trying to do this whole thing on what files to install and where. Each time I've tried something, I can't tell if I have everything (maps, login, play, etc.)
Just finished patching the Endomondo app with the gui from Cobalt32. Going to check if it works better. Can see the maps now.
Unfortunately, it can't lock onto the GPS. The bigger problem is that loading the patched Google play that came in the output affected the GPS for my MapMyFitness Android app. It can't lock now also.
Fixed: Had to redo the Google Maps/Vending/Google Play install, though now Google Maps gets the "No Network Connection" error- I suspect due to it working fine with Google Login installed only, but once I loaded the patched Endomondo apk and the associated Google Play file, it messed it up.Last edited by billman01; 03-13-14 at 12:01 PM. I've had the Pro version for years before BB10, but it no longer supports many of the other features.03-13-14 09:11 AMLike 0
- Yeah, I wasn't referring to Google maps integration, but rather, obtaining an actual gps lock so that it can show me restaurants nearby.03-13-14 10:43 AMLike 0

Z10STL100-3/10.2.1.214103-13-14 11:42 AMLike 0 - Here an experimental version 0.3:
Changelog:
- Fixed patching logic where recompiling would fail in some rare cases due to a flag not being set
- APK temp folder is now completely cleaned up after patching (hopefully no more error messages about unclosed zipfiles)
- Experimental support for Stava running app
As my Blackberry still is being repaired I can't test the Stava patch. I believe I catched the right method, but someone should verify it it works.
Download GMaps Patcher Win 0.3

I'll create a new thread, as everything gets lost in this one. I will be easier to maintain if it is the first post of a new thread. Hope you all support me with that.03-14-14 02:18 PMLike 4

This should make it easier to find the app as I believe that most users hesitate to read 664 post in this thread, especially because it starts very technically. So spread the word and thank you all for your support!03-14-14 03:30 PMLike 5 -
