No Skype yet, but that doesn't matter anymore. All of my friends are moving to G+ hangouts.
There's no way to get that working over here, is there?

Quick search of the forum says.....

I've done a bit of investigating on this myself, and it looks like the current outlook for getting a Google+ app working in Android runtime is rather bleak for now. The Google authentication API is not yet supported, a crucial part in getting and Android port to work.
The other option would be the web browser, but unfortunately Google Hangouts require a special plugin.
I think our only bet on getting some G+ action on BB10 will be with Google developing a native app. I've read that their official stance is that they are open to the idea and paying attention to BB, but are not committed to the platform just yet. Another factor to consider is that they are most likely putting most of their energy into overhauling their messaging services. With that going on it wouldn't make sense to develop for a new platform like BB10 until after they release the improved service.
I think we'll know a lot more after the Google i/o event this summer.

Same here really want this app, more than Skype. There I said it.
But makes sense why they are currently not working on it.

if you want to use hangouts to talk you can always use google talk for blackberry.:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:
Weird, but Google Talk doesn't let me login with my gmail account, only my googleapps account. Keeps saying the password is incorrect (even though it's correct). Also, getting messages from Google telling me to use a google supported app! So, I don't think Google is supporting their Talk client any more. Wouldn't mind if there was another option. :)
You have to create an application specific password for it. It should be in your google account settings. You'll need to use your desktop browser for it.

Ah interesting!
I have been working on an instant messaging app' for BB10 for Google Hangout, and when I submitted the app' to BBW the reviewer told me that he cannot connect... Maybe that is why...
It strange, I never had any issues with it...
The only way to use google hangouts on bb10 is via the browser by going to http://plus.google.com
Be sure to hit the webpage menu and go to the desktop view. Once in the desktop view hit the google hangouts icon in the upper right.
The site is very slow but it works.

OK. indeed that is a way...
But I decided to make an app' for it. I created a topic on the forum about it:
http: //forums.crackberry.com/app-announcements-f281/hg10-generic-xmpp-client-976087/
(I am new, I still can't post url)
I am still missing group chat & audio/video calls, but at least I managed to handle the history & synchronization between multiple devices. That was the most important for me.
Hopefully it will be available soon on the store!
I noticed the app today. I installed it. So far it has a lot of potential. Hoping for more updates soon. I wish blackberry would update their google talk to fully support Hangouts.

Thanks :)
However I had to remove it, people were just trashing it...
I will improve the connection process...
And I already added voice messages like in Wechat :)
It will be back on the store after more work.

Keep it up. Hope you can get group chats to work like it does with hangouts. it would be something I would pay for.
