I install Google play store and is super cool. I can download almost everything. I use 10.2.1 os, but I receive from 20 in 20 minutes this notification:
"An application requires installation of Google Play services.
    00:33
    Requested by Maps
    "
Maps is working but this notification is very annoying. How can I escape from this notification? I have Google maps installed on my device before I install Google play and didn't receive any notification. Thank's!

You can turn off notification for any app in Android settings. Run Blackberry Google ID, go to Android settings in the pulldown menu. Then to apps, all apps. Click on the desired app and unselect notifications.

Sorry if I am not putting this question in the relevant thread on the forum.
I have downloaded the Cobalt's patched youtube app. However, I can't seem to be able to sign in. I wonder if there is a solution.
I am on Z30 with 10.3.1.1154 and have successfully managed to download and install the google play store services.
    Thanks for the help.

While the youtube app will work, it's not possible for you to sign in. It requires google+ working, which is not currently possible on BlackBerry devices.

The Fast Tube and Super Tube apps in BlackBerry World will do that for you I believe.

Now that it's working, it's FANTASTIC. Thanks, Cobalt, you are a genius.

Couple of minor things. When I went to get an app-specific password, that option was nowhere to be found on my account settings in Google. I realized that I had to turn ON 2-step authentication in order to have that option. If others run into this issue, that is the solution. Maybe a good thing to add to an FAQ.

However it was not a straightforward installation/setup. I followed the steps to a "T" from the video (I used BlackBerry Blend to access the 3 APKs that I had downloaded on my Mac - worked brilliantly), however I kept getting an error "Cannot establish connection to Google servers. Please try again later". So I ended up removing the Google Account that was added, but I also had to remove the same email account that I was using on the phone to sync calendars, contacts, etc. Once I did that and generated a new app password, it worked and I have just installed a couple of apps that I used to have on my GS4 and they work beautifully. This is on my Classic, btw.

    BRAVO.

App-specific password is for users using Google 2 way authentication only. If you don't use it, just type your gmail password

But it seemed like it is required based on the instructions and video. If it's not then can I go back and disable it, as it's a pain each time I set up the same email account on a different device.

Two step is not required. You can disable that if you don't feel you need it.

Please read the FAQ in post 1. You can not download and install Google Play services. The files must be patched to run.

The brave may give it a try: Google Play store with enabled in-app purchases.

Nothing has been changed in the billing module. The solution was to use correct bindings to the service. I successfully tested this with Bridge Builder (bought a few in Game coins). Not sure if it works with all apps. Post your results here and don't blame me for lost money ;-)

Awesome. I went back and disabled 2-step authentication on my Gmail account and all is still working great. Really appreciate your efforts on this, it is making me think that I can now use my Classic (or other BB10 device) for everything and ditch the iPhone, as the app deficiencies on the BB platform (and Amazon as well) are now a non-issue for the most part.

Thanks jzajac. I now see in an earlier post that someone had written the same thing, however I couldn't read all 600+ posts in order to learn this, so by trial and error I now see the answer (thanks to you, alaviss and Cobalt!).
