Hey i have problem . When i wanna download any app from google play store i have crash. Today i do hard reset and before reset all was ok . How fix it ?
Replace Play Store build1 with build2.
Okay ist all good now , thanks :)
Can anyone please help me to know how to install an update of an already installed patched app from Google play store like Messenger. I just can't figure it out. Every time i try to install the update, my phone says "unable to install app". Thank you in advance for any help. This is driving me crazy!!!
You have to patch the new version first.
However you should really be using Messenger Lite (which does not require patching).

Thank you very much Conite for replying to my desparate plea. And thank you for the info you provided. If I may indulge you for another question, please. When I get a notification from that any of my patched apps from Google PLay Store (using Cobalt's Build 2) requires and update, how do i get the update download as GPS only allows one to install the update and then my GPS gives me the error message "unable to install app"?
You will notice that the app gets downloaded and is in your download folder.
Conite,
Does the downloaded update have the exact name of the Cobalt build2? Like I only see the original Cobalt files in my download folder. I don't see anything that looks or says "update". So do i just re-install those original apk's again and the update is in that?
Many thanks again for sharing your expertise and boy, you are good!
No. You will see a separate apk for the app you downloaded.
So Conite,
Do I download the update from the Play Store on my Blackberry phone or from my computer and sideload it, and if I have to sideload it, how do i download an update from the Play Store? Again, many thanks.
You don't sideload apk files.
Download the app (say GMaps) on your device with Cobalt's Google Play Store. Make sure the apk has been whitelisted, transfer it to your PC, patch the app, transfer the patched apk back to the device, install patched apk.
I'm sorry if this is a stupid question Conite, but how do you use Cobalt's Google Play Store to download APKs to your device? (You wrote "Download the app (say GMaps) on your device with Cobalt's Google Play Store."). I have successfully used Cobalt's Google Play Store to install apps, and I think I have read all the basic forum posts with instructions for using his Play Store apps, but I don't see a way to use them to just download the APK for an app. Maybe I am missing something, or just misunderstanding what you wrote.
Good post

Just hit install in Play Store. When it downloads and launches the BB10 apk installer and it prompts you to install the app, quit. You will find the apk in the download folder.
So just trying to figure out where Cobalt's Whitelist apk comes in and when do we need to whitelist an apk before patching it? Like do any of Cobalt's apk's on Mega need to be whitelisted before being patched then installed?
Thank you for any replies here.
Only apps you subsequently download that use Google Play Services require patching and whitelisting.
Thank you Conite!
So 1) How do i know if an app uses Google Play Services? Will i get a message of sorts when I try to use the app?
2) For any of Cobalt's apps (Google ID, gsm, Playstore) do they have to be whitelisted first AND patched then installed?
Cobalt's apps don't require patching.
You'll know if an app needs Google Play Services when it tells you as much.
If so, delete the installed app, whitelist the unpatched apk, patch, then install patched app.
A million thanks for all your patience with my Conite. I have spent hours and hours and hours reading the posts and trying to find the fixes for why I can't update and stuff. I obviously have done something wrong so I will delete all and start from scratch. But your patience and assistance are greatly, greatly appreciated by this noob!
A message just to recognise the work and effort that has made possible the GPS on BB10. Could re use my Passport and now doubting about moving to android in the foreseeable future.
Thanks to everyone involved!

Hello Conite and everyone,
Yes, it's me again. So I finally put 2 and 2 together and
understand with Conite's help that updates have to be patched before being installed on phone. So when I open Cobalt's patching app and select the file to patch I get the error message about Java and that it can't be found.
I don't know what to do to fix this. Can you please instruct me?
Again, many thanks :)
Just browse to where your java.exe file is.
Okay....ddddaaaahhhh! My skull is a little thick : ). Anyway....so the update does not need patching, but when i try to install it, i get the message "unable to install this app". So what am i doing wrong?
Make sure Play Services Patcher folder is just off the root folder. If it gets too deep, it won't work properly.
