Hello. I have a question about Google Play Services. I followed the instructions and it seems to work, but when I try to use the barcode scanner under Google Authenticator, it tells me that Google Play services needs to be updated from the Play Store. This isn't the default message that says Play Services is missing (it simply asks me to update it), so I'm not sure how effective / necessary patching would even be. Can I update Play Services from the Play Store, or do I need to download a patched version?

You can't update - you have to stick with Cobalt's v10.

Download to your computer, and then transfer the files over to your device.

Summing up, the BlackBerry Passport's days are numbered. The device is starting to show its age. Whatsapp dont work, all the workaround would not get it working! It's with a very heavy heart that I will be transitioning to the BlackBerry Keyone(all black edition).

Tried to do a factory reset, this may be help you. To replace Whatsapp Nemory have a apps that maybe helps.

Many apps are simply not compatible.

My service provider app (My Airtel) not working, showing "No internet connection found" even though the device is connected to 4G or WiFi.

Tried Google Patcher also but it says no patching required and unable to rebuild.

I believe Smartwatch uses Android Wear - which is not compatible with BB10.

Trial and error.

Try the unpatched app first. If it asks for Google Play Services in order to continue, then you will have to try patching it. After that, you're just out of luck.

Sorry, Conite. I just have one last question. What if when I go to install an app and it says "Unable to install app"? Like, I never get any error message about Good Play Services. And why is it that sometimes I can get an appt to install on blackbery and not on phone. Or if it installs on both i won't get any notifications eg. with the extension.messages app.

There can be several reasons why you would get that message - if the Android app is meant for a higher version of Android that the BB10 Runtime, if an Android app wasn't properly deleted and you are trying to reinstall it, or if the signatures don't match (trying to install a Google Play app over an Amazon app, or a patched app over an unpatched app).

Notifications from Android apps are inconsistent. It depends on the type of notification system used.
