Thanks a lot for the wonderfull work.

But it's definately not for the regular smartphone user (a.k.a. me; I've done the whole thing, downgraded my runtime, installed the playstore, googleid, blackberry id/cobalt*style, patched a few apps, and tryed to install them bacl on my Q10 but it just freezes and nothing happen)

I hope blackberry realize it needs native full compatibility with android apps.

    Including all services dependencies, etc.

Anyway, there's still a lot to read out here, and it's fun !

EDIT : Finally got a few apps going, at last !

QUESTION : Is it any use to patch apps not yelling for google services missing ?
I use Tapatalk from GPS. It will install and run without patching, however it will often close, stutter, in short runs like kaka. It does not ask for Play Services. I patched it and it runs fine now. So the answer is..it depends. If it runs fine then no patching..if it doesn't then try patching to see if it improves.

The only way to get a BlackBerry running with all android dependencies is for it to be an android OS. It can't work for BB10. That's why the Priv exists.

Is the prior (non-pro?) version properly deleted off your device (as per the bug with the OS2876 Runtime)?

I've successfully installed Google play store along with other required apk's and doing really good except annoying with some apps requiring "google play service."
nevertheless, I ran into a problem when I tried to uninstall / update any app in my BlackBerry classic. google play store uninstaller always gets closed if I try to uninstall any app. even holding the app and clicking on delete does not help.
I tried to manually uninstall apk. but still. google play store is showing that application is still installed. and surprisingly, even after I uninstalled the app using holding and closing. app is launching when I'm clicking on "open" button in play store. which can only be seen when app is already installed.
so yeah. how do I completely uninstall the apps using play store ?
I actually want to do that. because I need to uninstall an older version of my preferred application in my phone.

so any workaround for this ?
    This is well documented, yes.

why BlackBerry not just revert android runtime back to 2813 on update? but why under investigation?

Just revert android runtime back to 2813 and problem solved, no dizzying investigation anymore.

They still have to deploy it.

I suspect that's what 2879 is being prepared to do.

Easier said then done... when your development team has been reduced as much as the BB10 team must have been cut.
