Just download from Playstore (Cobalt's), Whitelist the unpatched APK, patch it with Cobalt's latest Gmaps Patcher and install the patched APK. Works just fine. However you will have to do this with every app update.

Is it recommended that we should update this app even if we already have everything set up? And if so, do I delete the old one first and then install the new one (like we do with "normal"patched apps)?

The last time I tried to update all three of the key apps by deleting them all and installing the newest patches apps. I ended up having to wipe my Z30 and start anew because nothing Google worked properly.

Just got the PassportSQW100-3/10.3.2.858 and it is wayyyy faster on android apps than my Z10 was, so I thought I'd try to get the play store up and working. But when I follow your links I get error server not found.

Is cobalts file server down?
