I can't install the google play store update.

I deleted the old app and tried to install the new version but I keep getting 'unable to install this app'

Sorry to hear that... this method works fantastic for me and requires less effort in the long run to keep apks running well in my opinion. Oh well, good luck with Snap.

Google Play Store 6.0.0 now available. The download link in the first post has been updated.

Changelog:
* all patches applied

To get the update, you can either download the file from the first post or you can go to Play Store settings and click on the build number to get the new release.

BlackBerry Priv is for convenience, do not have to worry about patched application and for people who want to get secure. BlackBerry 10 is for people who like more secure and can play android application/game but need to patched application.

I am well aware of that having been an Android user for the last 5 years. I was stating my preference for BB10 and not seeing any reason for leaving it.

Thank you so much for this. Though I think I finally narrowed down my issues to this play store install, and I want to seek your help!

Symptoms:
very slow and sluggish typing
words duplicated - this is a weird one. For instance, I type "for instance." On screen, it first appears "for" then i hit space, and it shows "for instance" I type the second word. Till I hit space after. And it changes itself to "for for." There is no green word over the space key, so it doesn't seem to be the autocorrect that is doing it. This happens every other words when it's happening.

It does not happen in message app, but it happens in default BB browser.

I've done a LOT of try and error - security wipe, reloading OS via autoloader, withholding downloading apps one at a time... (After security wipe, Telus auto update hits immediately so I can't see what version is doing the security wipe)
After several tries, it seems the typing is just fine when these three required to run android apps aren't installed.

Is there any reason to suspect this observation may be correct, and if so, please let me know how I can resolve this.
I need Google Maps (therefore I need your Google Play), and the slow and duplicated typing is killing me, and I almost bought a Sony Xperia just to escape this hell. Thank you, sir.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues. But I don't believe that there is a connection between your problem and the Play Store files (or any other Android app). Android apps are running in a sandbox and should not be able to influenc behaviour of native Blackberry OS 10 apps. As the problem seems to happen in Blackberry Browser, it's more likely a settings problem of your OS 10 word correction.

That is what I thought as well. Thanks, Cobalt.
(Though I never did touch word correction custom dictionary or any of that sort after I started trying to problem-solve this.)
Since I have you here... When it is so clearly software-related and it doesn't seem to be happening to other people, what else can I try other than repeating security wipe + autoloader? I've tried two different release versions and download fresh every time I try a new cycle (tried 5 times all together).
(also tried shifting SD and SIM cards as well, and device monitor does not show anything unusual)
