It's a setting in Blackberry settings -> App Manager -> Install apps from other sources. There are two options in that menu. Turn off the second one.

The links you need are in a box labeled as Downloads on the first post. I believe you are quoting post 2 which is the version history and not the correct post. They have the dates they were last updated next to the links. You have the option of trying the links hosted from Mega or if that doesn't work in your region bitcasa. Everything you need is there in the first post.

Maybe you restored android apps after a backup and you now your runtime is somehow corrupted. Try to reload the runtime. If it doesn't work, you should wipe your device.

When i do a full restore from a back up, can i restore my android apps too? Or will i have to install play store again etc and redownload all android apps after a restore?
Unsure if this is an issue or not...But thought doesn't harm to ask...

I would never restore android apps... it may work for normal apps ie. Games, but Google Login and Google Play Store normally are system apps and may register in a special way that can not be backuped by Blackberry Backup. Maybe you can just try...

All work fine, though may be responsible for my black screen on android notifications

What about content then? Like game progress and settings etc..how would one restore them for android apps?

If you're currently viewing in the CB app, I recommend you open the thread in the browser to remove the html code.

Look in your backup file. There I one "app" labeled runtime. Your Android app data is stored in there

It's because Play Store has its own notification service that is not based on GCM (Google Cloud Messaging).

When you restore, you can expand the options and select certain applications. It's in there
