Thanks Cobalt, really appreciated to have the play store on the blackberry to easily install all the Android app. I would not have tried the app if it wasn't free but after installing it I see how good it work and the level of support you give around so I'm sending a donation.
    Edit: 5$ donation sent

    Updated Playstore and BlackBerry ID.

Google account opens installer and the choice is "open". Doesn't update.

Everything works well. Do I need to uninstall Login and reinstall?

I've also got your maps, YouTube, and play services installed. Still working good.

Google Play Store is really a smart place to get different and safe Apps for our needs and I was wondering for this innovation store with BB. But, now dreams come true.

    Thanks a lot.

    Paypal works.
Patched it too works a treat.

Just turn off location from the Google id settings as it drains you're battery a lot. Also runs in the background a lot. (turn off location, this kinda solves the background thing)

Google Account doesn't update because the build Nr is the same. Remove and reinstall.

Those who are looking for Chromecast to work on Blackberry. Good news is, the patched chromecast app with Gmaps works. Also need to patch (with Gmaps) the app Plex and Photocast to use it.

I have the issue that downloads get stuck at around 90%, no matter the size of the actual app. It occasionally happened with Play Store 5.3.5 and now with 5.3.6 it's acting like this all the time. The apk cannot be found in the downloads folder when that happens so I guess there's a problem calling the saving functionality.

Rebooting my Q10 helped, but not as expected. After restarting the device and the Android runtime, the download seems to get resumed in the background. After a short while a notification appears in the Hub and the apk stuck downloading before the reboot is in my downloads folder.

    Any suggestions?

Play store first saves the downloaded file in an temp folder. Then it verifies, if the file was gzipped and unzips it if required. Then it moves it to device/downloads and runs the installer. This procedure can take up to 3 times of the file size of the actual apk. After installation, all tmp files are cleared.

Are you sure that you have enough space on your INTERNAL SD?

The internal SD ("Device Storage") has plenty of room left on it, close to 7GB.

Is there any indication of which step is currently taken by the Play Store? I.e., can I assume the download hasn't finished due to the progress bar sticking at less than 100%?

I had that happen as well on occasion. I usually reinstall the Play Store.

I downloaded Google Drive and installed it. But it has no icon showing. Not even during install.
    Anybody else seen that?
I had another app that did the same thing.

hello and sorry in advance if you've already answered this question. So i bought my first blackberry(q5) yesterday and I've been trying to set up google play literally all night. Ive followed your instructions, downloaded the mega app and i also registered so i could access the app. I then downloaded all three files/apps (what ever) you call them and now there stuck on my mega app and i dont know how to install them or open the apps. they are downloaded just sitting in the mega app, and when i click on them all it tells me to do is save the file to my sdcard. so ya i have no clue how to install the apps, any help would be greatly appreciated and if you help me through this frustrating process id be more than happy to donate 5 for 10$ for your additional time amongst the hours of hard work you did developing these apps.

You can't see what's going in in the GUI, but I implemented detailled logging to Play Store for the downloading and installation part. You can download my Blackberry Logger and then log the whole procedure if you like. There you will see the steps, from the begining of the download until end of installation.

You can get Blackberry Logger here (requires a PC)
