Am am being prompt to update the playstore.. should I update? Will I lose functionality if I do? Or if I dont?

    Posted via CB10
You should definitely not update. You will lose all functionality and Play Store will crash immediately when updated, as the required patches are missing. Autoupdates of the core apps should never happen. It looks like I missed something in the code to block this. Will do some research to prevent that in future.

I just tried to install Play Store 5.2.13 but get the unable to install notice. Do I have to delete the installed version first?

It should update, but it's better to remove the previous version and install the new one.

The you should either use a pc to download the files or install the android version of the Crackberry app. The Blackberry version is crap and doesn't show content correctly.
Good tip, Crackberry app from the Play Store working much better.

PS. Many thanks for sharing your knowledge and make people (at least me) happy with the native Play Store!

    Thanks!!!

Well it seems the installed version just disappeared. It's like it uninstalled itself. Weird. So I installed the updated version, it did install but now crashes (Google Play Store stopped). Ugh. Maybe it's too early or not enough coffee.

Is it strange to have this number of GPS going at once? This is via the Android Settings app.

I just updated the Blackberry Google ID app to simplify the setup process of Play Store.

The new installation steps are the following:

    1. Install all 3 apps but don't run them
    2. Run Blackberry Google ID and follow the instructions

    Done.

Maybe some of you want to run through the process from scratch and provide some feedback?

    Thanks!

If you don't see previously payed apps, you can just remove and reinstall the play store app. They will then show up.

In that case you don't have two-factor authentication enabled on your account and you don't have to create an app specific password.

Just use your normal password to login to play store and blackberry google id.

Did you install the same package from Blackberry world? If yes, you should remove it before installing with playstore.

No actually it's not available in BlackBerry world, and I didn't download it before "except for when I was using the old 10.2 OS but I did a security wipe to my phone.." now I'm facing this issue with some of Google play's applications

What apps are that? Some kind of service apps (ie virus scanner or task manager). Did you restore android apps after the wipe (bad idea, causes problems)?

What doesn't work? What happens if you want to buy an app? You should be more specific with your question.

First removed all 3 (old) apps, hard reset Z30 and installed the new versions. Started Blackberry Google ID 1.5 and followed the instructions. Looks like everything is working fine.

    Thanks!
