Well, it does check-in as an android device (Galaxy), but there is some code in Play Store that somehow overrides the screen dimensions and processor settings That's why some apps refuse to download. I haven't found a way to trick that yet. I may look into it again some time.
If you are running OS 10.3.1 and change the Play Store from Square to Rectangle (Q10 or Passport only I assume) I was able to get unsupported apps to install (i.e. there was no complaint about being unsupported). Now, this worked for the couple of apps I was using, not sure about the entire Play Store.

    Anyone else try this out?

That of course should work, because Play Store then assumes that the screen is not square but rectangular.

It's in 10.3.1 only. Swipe down in an android app and then you can change the format.

After I updated google play services to 6.6.03, every so often i get an error indicating that it crashes while using the play store or an android app. How can I prevent this from occurring? I'm using Z10 stl-3 10.3.1.2267.

P.S: There's one app I'm unable to get working. I've tried patching the Geico app using both lucky patcher and gmaps patcher to no avail. If you could look into it I would really appreciate it... Thanks

P.S.S. A small donation is forthcoming due to your hard work

That must be on physical keyboard devices only. My Z10 doesn't have that setting.

That's why I couldn't find it. I'm on 10.3.1.2072 and the first thing I do with an Android app is getting rid of the bottom bar by swiping down from the top and turning it off.
I have never seen that option there on my phone.

    Hi, cobalt

Maybe this is impossible, but you are the one, to do something like add or change the appearance of "Dark theme" in the play store next update v5.2.12 Build2 .
Dark synonymous with BlackBerry 10, Haha..

Nice idea, but there are lot of dark icons that would not be visible with a black theme.

Yeah, that's normal. Your screen is already rectangular, so no need to have that option .

    Cobalt,

Is there any way of removing the constant nagging of "This requires a service....." message when Google Maps is installed? I understand that Google Play Services and Google Login don't work well together. However, I really would like to have Google Maps installed without the message appearing on my Hub every 5 mins. I tried to uncheck the "Run when minimized" on the app permissions for Google Maps (assuming that was the culprit) but it won't let me uncheck it.

Nonetheless, I love what you've done so far, it's much appreciated.

Run Blackberry Google ID, go to options menu, chose Android Settings.

Then go to Apps -> Google Maps and turn off notifications
    Bilaal and WhutChaDoin like this.

Cobalt I really need to thank you! I followed your instructions in Post 1 and in about 5 minutes I was up and running!

I needed an app that every swim parent in the US uses to get live swimming results, Meet Mobile. Their old app worked perfectly on both my Z10 and my Z30 but they recently updated to a in app purchase subscription service so I was almost out of luck.

I downloaded the new version from the Play store, completed the in app purchase, and now thanks to you, am back in business. Now I just need to try to patch the apk and get rid of the Play Services pester screen and it will be perfect.

Your work and time are greatly appreciated! You will be receiving a donation from a very happy swim Dad!
