Does anyone know what these processes do and how to stop them from automatically loading themselves and running in the background? This is caused by having Google Maps installed on my Z10.
    Thanks in adavnce.

(the app I am using is called Taskmanager by amitgosh found on BlackBerry World)

Just that Taskmanager app..which is an android port. But even with that closed, 9 out of 10 times I'll open it and find Google maps and PicoTTS processes running.

You can use that task manager app to close the running apps. Hit the X

They will not restart until you reboot or open that specific app

Tried that. It reloads itself in a moment. It reloads even after a herd reset and not opening Google maps.

Google Maps, even on the old BBOS devices, would try and stay open and consume CPU/Data - How else will Google know your every whereabouts and everything you do?

Aside from using the 10.2 AppManager within BlackBerry10 I don't know how you'd terminate a side-loaded app like this.

Can PicoTTS access the microphone? Isn't that a Text-to-speech process.

I hope Google maps isn't converting speech to text and sending the data to its servers along with my location...that would be evil and creepy.

They are basically services and not actual apps i think. If you dont open an android app then the runtime wont run and you dont have to worry about them. There is no need to leave the task manager open at all either.

Thanks a lot for this. I was able to disable PicoTTS and Google maps still works.
Ghost Commander is an awesome app!
