My husband is a member of a Search and Rescue team that uses an app called Active 911 for call outs. He is able to get SMS alerts on his Z30, but the rest of the Active 911 functionality is not available to him. According to one of the support staff at the app site, this is because Active 911 uses Google Cloud Messaging. They have no plans to make this available for Blackberry. Is there a workaround?

As far as I know this app won't work on BB10. You can load the app using SNAP, but it failes to resister.

You might look at trying some of http://forums.crackberry.com/android...g-page-965257/

But I think the problem is in the Push notifications that rely on Google's "NCO".

My son-in-law is a firefighter.. he left BlackBerry long ago due to it's incapability with the Counties alert system and there are a number of tools that he found in Andorid (many that may work today using SNAP... but didn't back then).
