Since yesterday Google has updated bunch of its oem apps and as you might now result is quite depressing for BB10 users.

So far affected Google apps are Google Maps and YouTube, there might be others but I don't use them.
App that is not affected by this is Google Translate.

Usually when you wanted to sign in app would tell you that you need Google Plays Services in order to continue but app would work just fine. well after yesterday's update I can confirm that Google Maps and YouTube show a notification over the screen to contact your manufacturer and your only option is to tap OK and app will minimize, after that it's constant loop.

I have not tried with patched Google service maybe that would work.

I just did maps through snap, version 7.7 I think. No issues with it that i can see.

Not only does the new maps work for me, but I have the natural voice back - no more Stephen Hawking voice. Youtube broke though.

Google Maps works but suggests you install Google play services and it also gives you the option to ignore it forever. Youtube is sure broken but Vevo works plus we have abundance of youtube apps in BBW.

I think if you use any other app store other than Snap, which sends a ghost Android device ID to google play identifying your device's Android version, you will run the risk of apps not running properly. No other third party store will know what version of Android you are using, and it will be a coin toss.

The Youtube app udpate on SNAP has the message GOOGLE PLAY Services not supported. Could anyone please point me in the right direction on how to fix. I am using a Z30 with the most recent update in Canada 10.2.1.2102

I just updated to v1.7.7.0, it works fine. when i first opened the app it game me the Google play services has stopped. i clicked OK, waited and all loaded normally.
I an still annoyed that i need to log into my account to get bookmarks and save locations... but... it's easy to use and i am happy with their maps so i'll live with this inconvenient for now.

YouTube doesn't work, after starting the App you immediately get a pop up you can't click away. See picture attached.
